Connected Roots Teletherapy LLC

What to Expect from Teletherapy

A warm, supportive space to begin — wherever you are in Minnesota.

Starting therapy, especially online, can feel like a big step. At Connected Roots Teletherapy LLC, my goal is to make that step as comfortable and supportive as possible. I offer person-centered therapy for individuals, couples, and families across Minnesota, creating a calm, compassionate space where you can slow down, be heard, and begin to work toward the changes you want.

Teletherapy allows us to meet from wherever you are, without the stress of traffic, parking, or rushing across town. Together, we focus on connection and growth, so you can better understand yourself and your relationships while feeling grounded and supported along the way.

How Teletherapy Works

The process is straightforward and collaborative. Here is what it looks like to get started with teletherapy with me, Veronica Deglman, LMFT.

Step 1: Reach Out

Start by contacting me through the secure contact form on this site or by phone. You can briefly share what brings you to therapy and any questions you have. There is no pressure to commit to anything at this stage.

Step 2: Free 15-Minute Consultation

We will schedule a free 15-minute phone or video consultation. This is a chance for you to share a bit more, ask any questions, and get a sense of my style and approach. Together, we can decide whether working together feels like a good fit.

Step 3: Schedule Your First Session

If you decide to move forward, we will choose a session time that works well with your schedule. Because sessions are online, there is added flexibility, which can make it easier to keep therapy consistent.

Step 4: Meet via Secure Video

When it is time for your session, you will join a secure video call from your computer, tablet, or phone. Whether you are in Minneapolis, a smaller town, or a rural part of Minnesota, you can connect to therapy from a space that feels comfortable and private to you.

What You’ll Need

Getting set up for teletherapy is simple. You do not need special equipment or advanced technical skills. To get started, you will need:

  • A device with a camera and microphone, such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
  • A stable internet connection, so we can see and hear each other clearly.
  • A private, quiet space where you feel safe to talk openly without interruptions.

During our first session, we will also take a few minutes to make sure your technology is working well and that you feel comfortable with the platform.

Common Questions About Teletherapy

Is teletherapy as effective as in-person therapy?

Yes. Research shows that teletherapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many concerns. What matters most is the quality of the relationship and the safety you feel in the space. My approach is person-centered and collaborative, whether we are meeting online or in an office.

Is teletherapy confidential?

Yes. I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform designed specifically for mental health care. Your privacy is a top priority, and we will talk through any questions you have about confidentiality, limits to confidentiality, and how to create as much privacy as possible in your physical space.

What if I am not very tech-savvy?

You do not need to be an expert with technology to benefit from teletherapy. Before your first session, I will provide clear, simple instructions for joining the video call. During our first meeting, we can move at a pace that feels comfortable and troubleshoot together. My goal is for you to focus on your experience in therapy, not the technology.
